Chris Brown ft Justin Bieber – Next 2 You
On his fourth studio album, F.A.M.E., which was released on June 21, 2011, American singer Chris Brown included a song titled “Next to You” with Canadian singer Justin Bieber. The song was co-written by Brown and Sevyn Streeter, a regular writing partner from the American girl duo RichGirl. Four songs—”Up” (2011) remix, “Ladies Love Me” from Brown’s mixtape Boy In Detention (2011), and “Don’t Check on Me” from Brown’s 2019 album Indigo—were co-written by Brown and Bieber.
“Next to You” is a pop and R&B song with lyrics about the love shared by two individuals in a relationship and how that love helps them get through challenges. One of the most “pop” moments on F.A.M.E., according to music critics, who also praised the song’s musicality and lyrics. The song debuted on the music charts of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom following the album’s release. On June 24, 2011, it was made available for digital download as the fifth single from the album.
