Chris Brown ft Kendrick Lamar – Autumn Leaves
In “Autumn Leaves,” Chris clings to the frail threads of his connection in an effort to hold it together. In the depressing song, he displays a vulnerable side by asking for his partner to stay. Chris said that Lamar penned his line with the “mindset of a critic” who was guiding him through the song in a September 2013 interview with SKEE TV. Chris also commended Lamar’s lyrics and his capacity to create vivid images with words.
Although “Autumn Leaves” was never made available as a single, Karreuche Tran, Chris’ on-and-off girlfriend, played the lead in a music video that was filmed there. This could be a reference to the fact that the song is about their relationship.
After “R.I.P. (Remix)” in March 2013, “Autumn Leaves” is Chris and Kenny’s second joint effort.
