Drake – March 14
On “March 14,” Drake discusses in-depth the existence of his child, Adonis, and some of the things involved with him and his baby’s mother, Sophie Brussaux. He compares his situation to that of his own parents. Drake discusses his disdain for being a “single father” since it is one of the things he lamented his own father for as he was growing up.
The song also serves as a possible response to [Pusha T]’s diss track “The Story of Adidon” and is a continuation of themes discussed on “8 out of 10.” However, in an interview with Rolling Stone, producer T-Minus says the song was written “way way before” the beef with Pusha T. Meanwhile, you can hear Drake rapping over a sample of “Lady” by [D’Angelo].
Coincidentally March 14th was also the day where Drake played the rising pop culture icon Fortnite with pro gamer and streamer Ninja
