Slim Shady tells a bizarre and fantastical story about his upbringing and how he came to be so insane, yet it is based on actual occurrences.
In 2003, the DeAngelo Bailey mentioned in the song actually made an attempt to sue Eminem for $1 million, claiming that the rapper had falsely and defamatorily described Bailey. The judge ultimately decided to dismiss the case and provided an explanation for why in a rap song at the end of the verdict.
