Eminem – Chloraseptic
Eminem describes contemporary rap in his song “Chloraseptic.” Marshall is exposing all “mumble rappers.” Rick Rubin, a frequent partner of Eminem and executive producer of Revival, discussed Em’s dissatisfaction with the game in an interview with Broken Record.
I could tell [Eminem] was angry about it.
Chloraseptic throat medicine is mentioned in the heading. While making fun of the younger generation, PHRESHER and Eminem display their aggression toward other rappers. They need throat medication because while they rap and mumble, their throat becomes sore.
It’s also important to note that after learning of Revival’s unfavorable reviews, Em released a remix of the song on which he attacked reviewers. The remix included verses from 2 Chainz and PHresher, the latter of which is somewhat ironic given how difficult it is to understand. 2 Chainz’s part was highly anticipated. Maybe all he needed was some chloraseptic.
