Fela Kuti – Expensive Shit
The pioneering Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti and his Africa ’70 band’s eleventh full-length album, Expensive Shit, was released in 1975. It was reissued by MCA Records in 2000, bundled on the same CD as Kuti’s He Miss Road (1975).

Fela Kuti, a musical legend, wrote and composed the song “Expensive Shit” to inform and amuse the listeners. This fantastic song was taken from his 1975 album, “Expensive Shit,” which also goes by that name.
Fela Kuti’s “Expensive Shit” album won awards. The aforementioned project debuted at number 402 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2020 and was ranked 78 on Pitchforks’ list of the Top 100 Albums of All Time.
However, this superbly crafted song called “Expensive Shit” has amazing lyrics and wonderful instrumentals that are easy to relate to and feel inspired by.
