Fela Kuti – Sorrow Tears and Pain (Official)
We delivered this Fela show-stopper, “Sorrow Tears and Blood,” which has a wonderful message about the tragic incident, to enthusiastic Nigerians to burn our candles for falling saints more than a week after the Lekki Massacre (20-210-20, the killings of peaceful Nigerian youths/protests at the Lekki Toll Gate).

According to sleeve designer Ghariokwu Lemi, “Sorrow Tears And Blood” was written in response to the destructive South African regime of the Soweto uprising of June 1976, which Lemi and Fela had witnessed fully unfold on TV. The uprising was thought to have been revived by the February 1977 armed forces attack on the Republic of Kalakuta.
