In Nigeria, where living costs are very high, there’s a touching story going around about a man who started to cry in a marketplace because he didn’t have enough money to buy basic foods like rice, beans, and garri. A video showing him getting upset in front of a store after checking prices and realizing he couldn’t afford anything became really popular.
It’s not just this man who is struggling; many people in Nigeria are finding it tough to cope with the cost of things. To show how serious the situation is, on February 5, people in Niger state even held a demonstration to protest the expensive prices of food.
