On “Blame it on the Boogie”, the Jacksons try to fight with the boogie for their girl’s attention, before giving into the boogie themselves.
This song is actually a cover – the obscure original was co-written and performed by English artist Michael “Mick” Jackson! In Michael Jackson’s autobiography Moonwalk, he joked that because of this, they could still claim that all songs on Destiny were “written and produced by the Jacksons”.
Although it did middling numbers in the US, “Blame It on the Boogie” was a worldwide hit, and remains the Jacksons’ most celebrated song to this day.
