Police Begin Search As Kidnappers Abduct Bank Manager In Bayelsa State
But a close police source reportedly said that the bank manager’s abduction might be associated with members of the remaining gang of the “celebrity kidnappers”.
Some gunmen who are suspected to be kidnappers, have caused serious panic in Beyalsa State.
They gunmen abducted the Operations Manager of a new generation bank, Mrs. Ugoanochie, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
Ugoanochie, who was reportedly abducted during the weekend around the PDP Junction area of the Sanni Abacha Expressway, is said to have come as a surprise to residents of the area considering the high presence of joint security checkpoints along the expressway.
The Nation reports that security sources said the Ugoanochie who hails from Imo State in the Southeast region of Nigeria lived in a residence adjacent to the hideout of the arrested suspected notorious kidnappers, John Ewa popularly known as John Lyon and Emmanuel Agase.
It was gathered the operatives of Operation Puff Adder, anti-kidnapping squad of the Bayelsa State Police Command, had provided security to her residence but the arrangement was altered.
But a close police source reportedly said that the bank manager’s abduction might be associated with members of the remaining gang of the “celebrity kidnappers”.
The police source was further quoted as saying, “We warned her to relocate for sometime because our intelligence report showed that she was being monitored to be abducted.”
However, the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, has not made an official statement on Ugoanochie’s abduction and efforts to get his comment on the incident failed as calls made to his phone were not answered.
