Cadinal Rex Lawson – Sawale
Rex Jim Lawson, also known as Cardinal Rex, was a musician from Buguma, Nigeria, who played the trumpet, sang, and led a band. He died on January 18, 1971. When Cardinal and his band ruled Nigeria’s highlife scene in the 1960s, he rose to become one of the continent’s most well-known highlife performers.
