The beat uses a sample of Sauti Sol’s “Kuliko Jana ft (RedFourth Chorus).” Vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, and Savara Mudigi formed the Kenyan Afropop group Sauti Sol in Nairobi in 2005. The group has topped Kenyan charts, gone on multiple successful tours across Africa and Europe, and attracted attention from around the world with performances in the US and Europe. In the lyrics of the song “Kuliko Jana,” they declare their love for Jesus. Very appropriate given Toosies’ theme and title, God Loves Me. wherein he talks about his connection to God.
