Wu Tang Clan – Dashin Reasons
Dashing (Reasons) is the twelfth track on the Wu-Tang album Iron Flag. It samples James Pierpont’s 1857 hit “Jingle Bells” which, originally titled “One Horse Open Sleigh,” was the first song performed and broadcast from space by Gemini 6 astronauts Tom Stafford and Wally Schirra in 1965. Although not originally associated with Christmas, “Jingle Bells” eventually became associated with the season, and in doing so, laid the foundation for making “Dashing” one of the most recognizable hits in the rather rarefied sub-genre of “Hiphop Christmas carols”. Other songs in the sub-genre include Juelz Santana’s “Jingle Bellz” and Eazy-E’s “Merry Muthafuckin Xmas”, which both also sample and parody
